Mass Loaded Vinyl Acoustic Isolation Vinyl Sound Proofing Membrane

Mass loaded vinyl, also named as MLV and rubber sound insulation felt underlay, is made from EPDM rubber or PVC. As it’s known to all, sound insulation material must be mass material. 3mm thick sound proofing membrane has a density of 5.0 kg/m2, equals to 1 lbs/square feet. That is quite heavy. Unlike other soundproof materials, mass loaded vinyl is flexible. This MLV soundproofing is environmentally friendly and human friendly, too.

The acoustic isolation decibel is up to 26dB – As effective as 10mm cork! Excellent for under tile applications where grout cracking is a concern.

Acoustics Performance

If the original floor can be more than 15cm thick and the sand & cement layer over the vibrating-absorption sound isolation rubber can be more than 4cm thick, airborne sound insulation can reach 55dB; crash sound insulation can reach 46dB.
